Football Ontario Opens Registration for Team Ontario Male Tackle Futures and Identification Camps

Football Ontario Opens Registration for Three Football Ontario Futures and Identification Camps Across the Province

Hamilton, Ontario – Football Ontario has officially announced locations and opened registration for Phase One of the 2023 Male Tackle High Performance Program. This includes the U14, U16, and U18 Male Tackle program.

WATERLOO REGISTRATION – January 15/23

YORK REGISTRATION – February 4/23

OTTAWA REGISTRATION – February 25/23

Phase One will take place in January and February with Football Ontario Futures and Identification Camps. There will be a total of three camps held across the province with a Waterloo Camp, a York Camp, and an Ottawa Camp.

Each camp will have two registration options for each age group. The Team Ontario Identification Camp will cost $69.99 and will be a way for players to declare their intent on being identified and making the Team Ontario Program. For those that choose the Identification Camp registration, they will also receive bi-weekly virtual High-Performance sessions with the Team Ontario staff.

There will also be a $49.99 Futures option available for those who wish to attend the camp and receive the excellent coaching that will be available, but do not wish to be identified for Team Ontario. These registrants will not be eligible for the online bi-weekly High Performance sessions.

Football Ontario is excited to be able to once again offer opportunities to showcase all of the football talent the province has to offer at the provincial, regional, and national levels. These camps are the first stage in doing so.

Each camp is capped at 100 participants per age group in order to provide the best experience possible to each athlete. Make sure that you register early so that you do not miss out.

“Thank you to all of our community partners who are collaborating with us on our 2023 Football Futures Team Ontario ID Camps. As we continue to create greater alignment we will be able to grow our beautiful game and provide more opportunities for all. Futures and Identification Camp Testing Includes:

  • Standardized Testing
  • Skill Evaluation
  • Big Man Evaluation
  • 7 on 7

Football Ontario will be working with PurpleShift in order to provide the most accurate Standardized Testing. PurpleShift is a recruiting, health, fitness, and social media app designed to objectively determine athletic ability.

PurpleShift verifies athletic results using video evidence, so that all tests are done the same exact way. The app also allows athletes and coaches to see where an athlete ranks, both globally and locally, in several categories.

Football Ontario is also partnering with the 13th Man to provide a Northern Exposure Camp in Sault Ste Marie in which Team Ontario and U Sports coaches will be present. This will  provide an opportunity for those who are unable to attend an ID Camp, another entry point to the Team Ontario Program.

To be considered for Team Ontario you must participate in at least one of the Identification camps. This is just the first phase of the Team Ontario selection process and roadmap. To view the entire Road Map CLICK HERE.
