How it works
Everything a captain or team manager needs to know before registering.
Registration
- Team captains or managers register and pay for each tournament by its deadline.
- Registration includes tournament entry, a jersey set (new adult teams) and rental flag belts.
- Every athlete needs a current Football Ontario flag membership through the National Registry.
- Ontario teams get registration priority. Out-of-province and international teams are first come, first served.
Rosters & rules
- Adult: up to 12 athletes and 3 coaches.
- Collegiate: up to 15 athletes, 3 coaches and 1 athletic therapist.
- 5v5, played under the IFAF flag football rulebook.
- Rosters, schedules, scores and stats run through TeamLinkt. Adult seeding is set by an online draft before each event.
Where the circuit leads
Every game is filmed, and the circuit is a direct route to national championships and Team Canada.
National championships
Top-ranked teams get priority to represent Ontario at Football Canada’s Senior National Flag Championship. The top intercollegiate teams get priority for the Collegiate National Flag Championship.
Team Ontario & Team Canada scouting
Circuit athletes are scouted for Team Ontario, and Canadian citizens and permanent residents are scouted for Team Canada flag camps through Football Canada’s National Team Pathway.
Game day
Every game filmed, live streams of semifinals and finals, professional photography, plus prizes and Detroit Lions and NFL merch.
Collegiate flag football
Women’s flag football is played at universities and colleges across Ontario. Teams compete through the OWIFA season and at Football Ontario’s Intercollegiate Women’s Flag Provincial Championship, with a path to the national championship.
Intercollegiate Provincial Championship
Held each spring in Peterborough. The Trillium Division features each school’s top team and the Great Lakes Division gives additional and developing teams a championship of their own. Teams are seeded by the previous year’s finish, with new schools seeded by registration time.
OWIFA
The Ontario Women’s Intercollegiate Football Association runs the collegiate season for 500+ athletes across 14 Ontario institutions: 5v5 non-contact flag in the fall and spring, and 11v11 contact flag in the winter.
Nationals and U SPORTS
Top Ontario teams advance to Football Canada’s Canadian Collegiate Flag Football Championship each May. Women’s flag football becomes a U SPORTS pilot sport beginning in 2027–28.
