Football Ontario Partners with Queen’s University for Major July Events
OSFL, OWFL, and Team Ontario Activities all Hosted in Kingston
Hamilton, Ontario – Football Ontario, alongside the Ontario Women’s Football League (OWFL) and the Ontario Summer Football League (OSFL), are proud to recognize Queen’s University and the City of Kingston for serving as hosts for several major football events throughout July.
“We are incredibly proud to partner with Queen’s University to deliver these premier events,” said Tyler McNicholl, Director of Operations at Football Ontario. “From high-performance training camps to championship-level competitions, these opportunities are critical to the development of our athletes and the continued growth of football across the province.”
The month’s activities kicked off with the U18 Male Tackle Team Ontario Training Camp, which began earlier this week, followed by the U16 Male Tackle Team Ontario Training Camp, taking place today. Both teams are participating in three-day training camps utilizing Queen’s University’s top-tier facilities before heading to Antigonish, Nova Scotia, to compete in the 2025 Canada Cup and 2025 Eastern Regional Challenge.
The OWFL will be hosting their championship weekend at the University, tomorrow, July 12th, featuring teams from across the province as they battle it out in the culmination of their season and a celebration of excellence in women’s football.
Later in the month, from July 25–27, Kingston will host the 2025 Football Ontario Summer Cup for the U14, U16, and U18 age groups. This prestigious event serves as the culmination of the OSFL season with the winners crowned OSFL and Provincial Champions in their respective divisions.
The Summer Cup remains the largest and most competitive amateur tackle football event in Ontario, and Football Ontario and the OSFL are excited to bring this premier competition to Kingston.
