Team Ontario Earns 7 Medals at Elite Flag Nationals

Football Ontario Recaps 2025 Elite Flag Nationals

Hamilton, Ontario – Football Ontario proudly announces the success of its provincial teams at the 2025 Football Canada Elite Flag Nationals, held this past weekend in Kingston, Ontario. Of the eight Team Ontario squads that competed, an outstanding seven earned medals, including three gold medal victories, the first in the province’s history at this national event.

Football Ontario had the opportunity to host the 2025 Elite Flag National Championships in Kingston, ON for a second year. The event hosted 40+ clubs and was the largest Elite National Flag Tournament to date. The organization extends sincere thanks to all who contributed to the event’s success, especially Queen’s University and Kingston Tourism for their support and hospitality. Special recognition also goes to the Ottawa RedBlacks for enhancing the athlete experience with engaging fan programming.

In 2025, there were a total of 8 Team Ontario Flag teams at the event and they combined for 3 Gold Medals, 1 Silver Medal, and 3 Bronze Medals at the tournament. 

Football Ontario was able to send teams in each of the 8 divisions. The organization sent a U14 Boys Team, a U16 Boys Team, a U18 Boys Team, and a U19 Men’s Team, as well as a U14 Girls Team, a U16 Girls Team, a U18 Girls Team, and a U19 Women’s Team.

Team Ontario would have a lot of success at the Championships with 7 of the 8 teams earning medals. The U14 Girls Team, U14 Boys Team, and U16 Boys Team all earned Gold Medals at the tournament. The U18 Boys Team earned Silver Medals at the tournament. The U16 Girls Team, U18 Girls Team, and U19 Boys Team all earned Bronze Medals at the tournament. The U19 Girls Team would also come incredibly close to finishing on the podium, finishing 4th at the tournament after a heartbreaking OT loss in the Semi-Finals.

Football Ontario is incredibly excited about the growth the organization’s High-Performance Flag programs have seen and look forward to returning to the event stronger than ever in 2026.
