Football Ontario is proud to unveil the official roster for the 2026 U18 Women’s Tackle Team. Following a highly competitive selection process, 25 outstanding athletes have earned the opportunity to represent Ontario on the national stage at the 2026 U18 Women’s National Championship in Regina, Saskatchewan, from July 20-28.
The continued growth of women’s tackle football in Ontario was evident throughout this year’s selection process. More than 90 athletes from across the province attended the Team Ontario High Performance Phase 2 Development Camp in May, competing for a place on the provincial roster. Since the program’s inception in 2022, the number of athletes pursuing opportunities within the Team Ontario pathway has continued to rise, reflecting the increasing strength and depth of women’s football across the province.
Leading the program in 2026 is Head Coach Dan Legros, a respected leader within Ontario’s football community and a dedicated advocate for the advancement of women and girls in football. Legros brings extensive Team Ontario experience, having served on both the men’s and women’s provincial coaching staffs, while most recently acting as General Manager for the 2025 U18 Women’s Tackle Team Ontario program.
“The number of elite level athletes across the province is a testament to the quality of high school and OWFL coaches and clubs providing opportunities for young women across Ontario. It was a very difficult process to select the top 25 from such an incredibly talented group of athletes. We are looking forward to competing in Regina and reclaiming the gold medal,” says Dan Legros, Head Coach.
The 2026 roster features a combination of returning Team Ontario athletes and talented newcomers, creating a dynamic group that brings experience, determination, and a strong commitment to representing the province. Athletes selected to the roster come from programs across Ontario, highlighting the continued growth and development of high school programs and the Ontario Women’s Football League (OWFL) and multi-sport organizations throughout the province:
