John Parkes Term Ended as Team Ontario Head Coach

Football Ontario Thanks Coach John Parkes for his Time Leading the U14 Program

Hamilton, Ontario – Football Ontario would like to thank Head Coach John Parkes for his hard work, care, and dedication as he led the U14 Male Tackle Program over the past three seasons. Coach John has now completed his three-year term as the program’s Head Coach.

Coach Parkes has been a part of the Team Ontario Program since 2018, first starting by supporting the U18 Tackle Program before joining the U16 Male Tackle Program as the RB Coach in 2019 where the team won Silver at the Eastern Challenge.

In 2022 he was named to the staff with the inaugural U18 Women’s Tackle Program. He served as the Offensive Coordinator for two seasons, winning Bronze at the National Championships in his second year with the program, before moving on to become the U14 Male Tackle Head Coach for the past three years.

Throughout his tenure he has been able to work cohesively with numerous staff members, coaches, and volunteers and successfully represented Football Ontario and the province of Ontario to the best of his ability.

Coach Parkes spearheaded the development and growth of the U14 Male Tackle Team Ontario Program with the level of talent on display at RedBlack Weekend growing each year..

Coach Parkes has been a driving force behind our provincial high-performance programming. His commitment to developing better people through sport—grounded in intentional relationships, accountability, and growth—paired with his thoughtfulness and care, has been foundational to the success and identity of the U14 program.” says Football Ontario’s Director of Culture and Sport, JT Tsui.

“I have truly appreciated the opportunity to help develop and lead the U14 team Ontario program over the past three years. This experience has been a valuable chance to continue my growth as a football coach and community leader. I will continue to support football Ontario and the long term growth of the sport across the province.” says Coach John Parkes.

The growth that both the Team Ontario Program has seen and the development of the many athletes that have worn the Ontario jersey is a testament to John’s dedication to the game.

Football Ontario believes that Coach Parkes has left the program in a better place than when he began as Head Coach and for that the organization is grateful. The organization looks to continue to build off his success and maintain the standard of excellence he has set throughout his tenure.
