Football Ontario Unveils 2025 Team Ontario Male U18 Tackle Coaching Staff

Football Ontario Announces the U18 Team Ontario Male Tackle Coaching Staff

Hamilton, Ontario – Football Ontario has officially announced the 2025 Team Ontario coaching staff for the U18 Male Tackle Program.

WATERLOO CAMP – January 11/25

YORK CAMP – January 25/25

SUDBURY CAMP – February 22/25 

The coaching staff is to be led by first-year Head Coach Tommy Kanishis who is currently serving as the Offensive Coordinator, Recruiting Coordinator, and Offensive Line Coach for the University of Toronto Varsity Blues football program.

The 2025 staff will look to build on the successes of the Team Ontario Program in 2024 and defend the province’s Gold Medal at the 2025 Canada Cup. See the full staff listed below:

  • Defensive Coordinator – Joe Cappiello
  • Co-Special Teams Coordinator/Running Backs Coach – Chris Coulson
  • Co-Special Teams Coordinator/Linebackers Coach/Video Coordinator – Morgan Burkett
  • Co-Special Teams Coordinator/Wide Receivers Coach – Matt Deans
  • Offensive Line Coach – Irv Daymond
  • Defensive Backs Coach – Donnavan Carter
  • Defensive Line Coach/Mentee Coach – Josh Brown
  • General Manager – Dealius Danso

Football Ontario is excited to have this talented staff lead the Team Ontario program and players to success in 2025 at the Canada Cup. The staff  provides a grouping of elite coaches which will help the players in both their practical football techniques and skills as well as help further their exposure as they look toward their future in the sport.
