Football Ontario Announces 2025 Team Ontario Parent’s Committee

Hamilton, Ontario – Football Ontario, the provincial governing body for football in Ontario, is proud to announce the 2025 Team Ontario Parent’s Committee to support Team Ontario men’s, women’s, flag and tackle programming. 

For the first time, Football Ontario is developing a Team Ontario Parent’s Committee to support the planning and delivery of Team Ontario programming. The Team Ontario Parents Committee is established to represent the interests and concerns of parents and to support team operations and community-building efforts. The committee will work closely with the flag and tackle coaching staffs, and Football Ontario staff to ensure smooth communication and to help organize essential activities during team events.

The Committee represents a variety of Team Ontario and community programming:

The responsibilities of the Committee include acting as liaisons between parents and the coaching staff by presenting parent concerns, feedback, and suggestions, as well as relaying key information from the general manager and coaching staff to parents. The committee will support the smooth operation of in-person Team Ontario events by offering logistical assistance and answering parent questions. Fundraising initiatives are developed and coordinated to support team activities, tournaments, and potential scholarships, working alongside parents, team staff, and external partners. During tournaments, this role also organizes parent socials to foster community and support among team families. 

The goals of the committee for 2025 are as follows: 

  • To improve communication between parents and Team Ontario coaching staffs
  • To successfully run at least two fundraising events during the Team Ontario season(s)
  • To organize parent socials at National Championships and the Eastern Regional Challenge
  • To enhance parent engagement through in-person events
