Football Ontario Announces 2024 Team Ontario Male High Performance Academy and Development Camps

Invited Athletes to be announced Later this Week

Hamilton, Ontario – Football Ontario has officially announced the dates and locations of the 2024 Male Development Camps as a part of Phase Two of the Team Ontario Program and the High Performance Academy. Athletes moving on in the process will be notified by invitation later this week.

On the tackle side, due to the large number of athletes, Football Ontario will be holding two separate development camps for each age group with 125 athletes from each age group attending based on their location.

On the flag side, the top 25-40 athletes at each age level will be invited to attend a single day development camp.

The U18 Male Tackle Development Camps will take place at McMaster University on April 6, 2024 and at St Andrew’s College on April 13, 2024:

The U14 and U16 Male Tackle Development Camps will take place at McMaster University on April 7, 2024 and at St Andrew’s College on April 14, 2024 for the U16 age group and April 13 or 14, 2024 for the U14 age group:

The Flag Development Camps will all take place at McMaster University with the U14 and U16 camps taking place on April 6, 2024 and the U18 and 18 camps taking place on April 7, 2024.

Phase Two will consist of a Development Camps as a part of the High Performance Academy. 

The High Performance Academy will have an early-bird cost of $195 for tackle athletes and $150 for flag athletes, if they are participating in both flag and tackle they will only need to pay an additional $25 for Phase 2 of the Flag program.

All registrants for the  High Performance Academy will have access to:

  • Exclusive Football Ontario Apparel 
  • 4-8 Hour Development Camp
  • Weekly Virtual Football Development Sessions during March and April
  • Football Ontario Apparel (Hoodie and Shorts)
  • Practice Jersey (For Tackle Athletes)

Early-bird pricing will be in effect until March 15 after which the prices will be $220 and $175 for tackle and flag registrations respectively.

The Development Camps will include on-field competition (in pads for our tackle athletes), in-class learning with elite Team Ontario and OUA coaching as well as film sessions. This experience is invaluable for players looking to take their game to the next level as they will receive the best coaching and access to great facilities. 

The Development Camps will be 4 hours for flag athletes and 8 hours for tackle athletes.

The culmination of the High Performance Academy will be the selection of the Top 90 players at each age level. These players will be invited to the Football Ontario Red v Black Weekend. 

This weekend will consist of a virtual draft of the players performed by Team Ontario and University coaches where teams will be selected and then take part in a day of training before facing off in an exhibition match.
