Football Ontario Seeks Bids to Host Three National Flag Events in 2024 and 2025

Football Ontario Accepting Bids to Host Three National Flag Events

Hamilton, Ontario – Football Ontario is  announcing that bids are open to host sites for three National Flag Events in 2024 and 2025.

The events are tentatively scheduled for:

  • Late August 2024 (National Club Flag Championships)
  • Late May 2025 (All-Star National Flag Championships)
  • Late August 2025 (National Club Flag Championships)

“We are thrilled to announce the opening of bids to host three prestigious National Flag Championship Events in 2024 and 2025. These championships, which will feature teams from across the country, will bring together the best flag athletes this country has to offer. Hosting this event is an opportunity for cities and communities to be a part of the continued growth of flag football in this country and we are eagerly anticipating the bids. We look forward to making these events memorable and impactful for the football community nationwide.” says, Aaron Geisler, Chief Executive Officer, Football Ontario.

In 2023, the U18 Flag National Championship had over 636 000 impressions on social media and reached over 522 000 people.

The games were streamed live and achieved over 11 000 views on YouTube and over 10 000 views on Football Canada TV, not to mention all of the people who showed up in person to watch the games.

This event will be four times the size of this event making it the perfect opportunity to show off your facility to the nation!

Each flag championship will consist of eight total divisions with athletes and teams attending from all across the country. 

The event will span 4-5 days with games taking place almost the entirety of each day.

The chosen host facility must have the following available:

  • Multiple Fields Available Each Day
    • Backup Indoor Option for Inclement Weather
    • Fields Lined for Football (Flag Football if Possible)
  • Practice Area
  • Dressing rooms for Officials
  • Stands/Spectator Area
  • Meeting/Film Rooms
  • Cafeteria/Places to Eat
  • Operations Center for Football Ontario/Football Canada Staff
  • Spectators Concessions
  • Press Box/Filming Location
  • Volunteer Infrastructure
  • Room/Housing Options for Athletes, Coaches and PSO/NSO Staff
  • Other Amenities to be Considered 

The most competitive and comprehensive bids will be reviewed by the selection committee for consideration.

All bids will be reviewed and decided upon based on favourable host support and amenities. The deadline to submit applications is March 14/24
