Phase One will take place in January and February with Football Ontario Futures ID Camps. There will be a total of three camps held across the province with a University of Waterloo Camp, a York University Camp, and a Carleton University Camp.

Football Ontario will also again be working with our partners in  Northern Ontario to help identify key athletes that should be considered for the Team Ontario Program but are unable to attend one of these three camps due to travel. This will  provide an opportunity for those who are unable to attend an ID Camp, another entry point to the Team Ontario Program.

Each Identification Camp will be limited to 100 athletes per age group so that the organization is able to provide the best possible experience to those in attendance.

For the first time, Football Ontario has decided to merge both the tackle and flag evaluations so that the organization’s athletes can be evaluated for both at once if they would like without the added costs and travel of an additional camp. Please select if you would like to be evaluated for Flag, Tackle, or Both when completing the registration forms.

These Identification Camps will be priced at $79.99 each, however, if you register prior to January 1, 2024 you will receive early-bird pricing of $69.99. This cost also includes access to select virtual High-Performance sessions, to be held at the discretion of the HC.

Football Ontario is excited to be able to once again offer opportunities to showcase all of the football talent the province has to offer at the provincial, regional, and national levels. These camps are the first stage in doing so.

Each camp has been initially capped at 100 participants per age group in order to provide the best experience possible to each athlete. Make sure that you register early so that you do not miss out.

“We would like to thank our Waterloo Warriors, York Lions and Carleton Ravens families for graciously offering to host us. The purpose of these Football Ontario Futures ID Camps is to give our student-athletes an opportunity to continue to develop and strengthen their gifts, talents and abilities. Beyond the on-field opportunities at these camps, we also place great emphasis on developing our student-athletes spirit, mind and body through our biweekly virtual High-Performance Fundamental sessions. We are enthused to see where this journey leads us in 2024.” says JT Tsui, Football Ontario’s Director of Culture and Sport.

  • 30 Minutes – Testing
  • 1.5-2 Hours – Skill Development/Competitive Skills

Futures ID Camp Testing Includes:

  • Standardized Testing
  • Skill Evaluation
  • Big Man Evaluation (Tackle Only)
  • 7 on 7 (Tackle) / 5 on 5 (Flag)

Football Ontario will be working with PurpleShift in order to provide the most accurate Standardized Testing. PurpleShift is a recruiting, health, fitness, and social media app designed to objectively determine athletic ability.

PurpleShift verifies athletic results using video evidence, so that all tests are done the same exact way. The app also allows athletes and coaches to see where an athlete ranks, both globally and locally, in several categories.
