Flag Road Map

PHASE 1

Phase One will take place in January and February with Football Ontario Futures ID Camps. There will be a total of three camps held across the province with a University of Waterloo Camp, a York University Camp, and a Carleton University Camp.

Football Ontario will also again be working with our partners in  Northern Ontario to help identify key athletes that should be considered for the Team Ontario Program but are unable to attend one of these three camps due to travel. This will  provide an opportunity for those who are unable to attend an ID Camp, another entry point to the Team Ontario Program.

Each Identification Camp will be limited to 100 athletes per age group so that the organization is able to provide the best possible experience to those in attendance.

These camps will be paired with our tackle camps. Please select if you would like to be evaluated for Flag, Tackle, or Both.

These Identification Camps will be priced at $79.99 each, however, if you register prior to January 1, 2024 you will receive early-bird pricing of $69.99.

Please stay tuned to our social media networks for more information on the timing and schedule for each of our age groups which will be finalized within the next week. Each Phase One Registration will also include entry to online sessions that will be held for the athletes, dates are TBD.

The dates and locations for these development camps are still to be determined.

Football Ontario will also have virtual sessions held bi-weekly for all members admitted to the High-Performance Academy. These sessions will be led by both the coaching staff and special guests to help the athletes both on and off the field.

PHASE 3/4

Following these Phase Two the Team Ontario Elite All-Star Teams will be named. These teams will attend the National Championships in Kingston, ON. Stay tuned for Football Canada’s formal announcement on when this event will take place.

After the success last year, Football Ontario will again be inviting all selected athletes for a training camp prior to the National Championship, the alternates for each team will also be invited to attend this training camp so that they can prepare with the team.

More information on these camps will be announced once Football Canada officially announces the 2024 Tournament Dates.

Team Ontario has an opportunity to compete on home soil against some of the best flag competition in the country with an opportunity for National team pathways and Olympic pathways. We have set up our identification process in a way that both tackle and flag athletes can be considered for both Team O pathways without additional cost or conflicting schedules. We want to field the best Team Ontario Flag teams and we are committed to identifying the best talent in the province” says Aaron Geisler, Executive Director of Football Ontario.
