Football Ontario Announces the Road Map for the 2024 Women’s Tackle High Performance Program
Hamilton, Ontario – Football Ontario has officially unveiled the Road Map for the 2024 Futures Identification, High Performance Academy and Team Ontario U18 Women’s Tackle Program (2007/2008/2009).
The Identification and Selection process will consist of two phases that take place from January-May and lead to the selection of the team that will participate in the 2024 U18 Women’s Tackle National Championship.
U18 Road Map
PHASE 1
Phase One will take place in January and February with Football Ontario Futures ID Camps. There will be a total of three camps held across the province with a University of Waterloo Camp, a York University Camp, and a Carleton University Camp.
Football Ontario will also again be working with our partners in Northern Ontario to help identify key athletes that should be considered for the Team Ontario Program but are unable to attend one of these three camps due to travel. This will provide an opportunity for those who are unable to attend an ID Camp, another entry point to the Team Ontario Program.
Each Identification Camp will have limited attendance numbers so that the organization is able to provide the best possible experience to those in attendance.
These Identification Camps will be priced at $79.99 each, however, if you register prior to January 1, 2024 you will receive early-bird pricing of $69.99.
Please stay tuned to our social media networks for more information on the timing and schedule for each of our age groups which will be finalized within the next week.
WATERLOO REGISTRATION – January 13, 2024 (Women/Girls)

CARLETON REGISTRATION – February 17, 2024 (Women/Girls)

Phase Two will take place immediately following Phase 1 with the High-Performance Academy with the top players from each of the Identification Camps receiving an invite to participate.
These athletes will also be invited to a development camp which will take place in the Spring of 2024, this camp will consist of both on-field and classroom work.
Football Ontario will also have virtual sessions for all athletes admitted to the High-Performance Academy. These sessions will be led by both the coaching staff and special guests to help the athletes both on and off the field.
PHASE 3/4
Following these phases the final Team Ontario roster will be selected to form the team that will take part in the 2023 Women’s U18 Tackle National Championship. Stay tuned for Football Canada’s formal announcement on when this event will take place.
After the success last year, Football Ontario will again be inviting all selected athletes for a 3 day training camp prior to leaving for their teams National Championship, the alternates for the team will also be invited to attend this training camp so that they can prepare with the team.
More information on these camps will be announced once Football Canada officially announces the 2024 Tournament Dates.
“I am excited for the unveiling of Football Ontario’s 2024 Team Ontario Women’s Tackle Road Map. I am confident that the athletes and coaches within the program will not only build on our past success, including a gold and a bronze medal at Nationals in 2023, but also showcase the immense talent in Ontario, reflecting the growth of women’s tackle football in the province.” says Emily Todd, the Director of Development and Administration with Football Ontario.
Football Ontario is excited to have the opportunity to return to the National Championship in 2024 after a successful tournament in 2023 in which the organization claimed two medals. The organization hopes to lead a successful Team Ontario program in order to showcase all the talent the province has to offer and the growth that women’s football has undergone.
