Football Ontario Unveils 2023 Team Ontario Women and Girls Flag U16 and U20 Head Coaches
Football Ontario Announces the Team Ontario Women’s and Girls Flag Coaching Staffs
Hamilton, Ontario – Football Ontario has officially unveiled the 2023 Team Ontario Head Coaches for the U16 and U20 Women and Girls Flag Teams.

The two Head Coaches are new to the Team Ontario program, but they both bring experience and success along with them
At the U20 age level, the team will be led by Avery Brevett. At the U16 age level, the team will be led by Lu Cruz.
“I am looking forward to developing, challenging and encouraging our young athletes while promoting the game of 5-a-Side Flag Football” says U20 Head Coach, Avery Brevett.
“I am beyond thankful to Football Ontario for allowing me to use this platform to help continue to grow the game for women, girls, and gender minorities and adding another amazing chapter to this already remarkable Women’s Flag Football program being offered within Football Ontario. I am also super excited to share all of my football experience as a former player and coach to help elevate the U16 Women’s Flag Football program with our sights set on a national championship. I believe that providing our players with a competitive Women’s Flag Football program that values respect, teamwork, family, achievement, but above all else inclusivity is something that I am passionate about and truly looking forward to providing that to our athletes and coaches. We are Football Ontario, Football For All, and I am #ALLIN.” says U16 Head Head Coach, Lu Cruz.
Football Ontario is excited to have these talented and experienced coaches lead the U16 and U20 Team Ontario squads in 2023. The organization believes these coaches will lead the players to a successful year and success at Nationals and Regionals.
“I am excited to welcome Coach Lu, and Coach Avery onto our Women’s Flag Football Coaching Staff. With experiences in coaching, officiating and playing football, they will develop high-performance, disciplined athletes at each age group. They are dedicated to growing the game for women, by being role models in this space. I can’t wait to see what we accomplish with Team Ontario Women’s Flag in 2023!” says Emily Todd, Programs Manager with Football Ontario.
