RTP UPDATE: Ontario to Remove Capacity Limits and Proof of Vaccination System

The Ontario Government Announces Lifting Capacity Limits Ahead of Schedule

Hamilton, Ontario – Earlier today, the Ontario Government announced that, due to the provincial trends surrounding COVID-19 cases, Ontario will be lifting various COVID measures ahead of schedule

The Ontario Government announced that as of 12:01am EST on Thursday, February 17th, 2022, capacity limits will be lifted in all settings where proof of vaccination is required. Seating capacity at sports arenas will be increased to fifty percent at this time.

The Ontario Government also announced that as of March 1st, 2022, the province will be removing all additional capacity limits. The government will also no longer require people to show proof of vaccination to enter non-essential businesses across the province. Any further restrictions will fall to local public health units.

Football  Ontario will continue to work with and engage members in order to make sure the provincial football community is engaged and updated on any further changes. The organization will continue to work tirelessly to do what it can to ensure that there will be a successful spring flag football, touch football, and OSFL season.
