Football Ontario Announces 2022 Summer Cup U10, U12, and U14 Location and Seeks Application Bids to Host U16 and U18 Championships
Hamilton, Ontario – Football Ontario is excited to announce the host site for the Inaugural 2022 Football Ontario Summer Cup at the U10, U12, and U14 age levels.
The league and Football Ontario are also announcing that bids are open to host sites for the U18 and U16 2022 Football Ontario Summer Cup.
Football Ontario is proud to share that the U10, U12, and U14 Inaugural 2022 Football Ontario Summer Cup will be held in Sarnia, ON in the summer of 2022 tentatively July 30/31 .
The 2022 Football Ontario Summer Cup will be the culmination of the playoffs in the Ontario Summer Football League (OSFL) with the victors of the Summer Cup being crowned the OSFL and Provincial Champion at each age group. The 2022 Football Ontario Summer Cup will be the largest amateur tackle football event held in Ontario with 35 Teams, 1500 participants and two host sites.
Bidding is now officially open to be THE OFFICIAL host site of the U16 and U18 Inaugural 2022 Football Ontario Summer Cup.
The U16 and U18 championships will take place over the span of two days tentatively August 5/6 and will consist of five tiers of championships at both age groups. This will total 20 teams and over 1000 participants and many more fans.
The chosen host facility must have in place:
- Turf Field with availability August 5/6
- Change Rooms
- Stands/Spectator Area
- Concessions
- Press Box
- Volunteer Infrastructure
- Other Amenities to be Considered
The most competitive and comprehensive bids will be reviewed by the selection committee for consideration.
“With the incredible success we had with the 2021 Football Ontario Fall Cup we cannot wait to have the 2022 Summer Cup as the championship of the inaugural OSFL season. This will be the largest amateur tackle football event in the province and we believe there are many great partners that would like to be a part of hosting this great event.” says Aaron Geisler, the Executive Director of Football Ontario.
All bids will be reviewed and decided upon based on favourable host support and amenities. The deadline to submit applications is February 15th.
