Gryphon Athletics Set to Host 2025 and 2026 Male Tackle Development Camps
Development Camp Sessions to be Held at the University of Guelph
Hamilton, Ontario – Football Ontario is thrilled to announce that the organization has come to an agreement with the University of Guelph, Department of Athletics to host the organization’s Male Tackle Development Camps in both 2025 and 2026.
Due to the large number of athletes Football Ontario has had throughout our identification process for our male tackle programs, Football Ontario will be hosting two separate development camps for each age group. There will be 125 athletes invited to attend each camp. The 2025 Development Camps will be held on April 12 and 13 at the University of Guelph.
The Development Camps will include on-field competition in pads for our tackle athletes, in-class learning with elite Team Ontario and OUA coaching as well as film sessions. This experience is invaluable for players looking to take their game to the next level as they will receive the best coaching and access to great facilities.
“Thank you to Coach Mark Surya and the Guelph Gryphons family for graciously offering to host our Team Ontario Men’s Tackle Development Camp Weekend for the next two years. Being able to secure this two-year partnership will allow our Team Ontario leadership team to focus our collective resources on providing the student-athletes with the best possible development experience.” says JT Tsui, Football Ontario’s Director of Culture and Sport.
The University of Guelph is one of Canada’s premier post-secondary institutions, and its athletics facilities are an excellent opportunity for Team Ontario athletes to be exposed to top-level facilities
“We’re thrilled to be hosting these tackle development camps on our campus,” said Gryphon Football Head Coach, Mark Surya. “It’s an incredible opportunity to welcome these talented athletes from across Ontario and showcase our campus and football facilities to the next generation of players. We’re excited to be a part of their journey and help them reach their full potential.”
