Football Ontario Looks to Hire Coaches and Staff  for 2024 Second U18 Team Ontario Women’s Tackle Program 

Football Ontario Seeks to Various Fill Team Ontario Positions

Hamilton, Ontario – Football Ontario is excited to announce that the organization has once again been granted the opportunity to send two teams to the 2024 U18 Women’s National Tackle Championship. Football Ontario is greatful for the opportunity and credits the strong women and girls grassroots programming that is currently going on across the province.

Football Ontario is now currently accepting applications for a variety of roles with the U18 Team Ontario women’s tackle football program for the 2024 season.

Application Deadline:  Monday, April 1, 2024

Start Date: Monday, April 8, 2024

Duration: One Year

Job Description and Coach Responsibilities Below

The coaches and staff will work closely with the Team Ontario Red coaching staff and Football Ontario staff. To assist with team selections, coaches may be required to attend identification, development, or selection camps in addition to events such as the Women’s Tackle National Championship.

STAFF ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  1.  ADMINISTRATION
  2. Support in maintaining up-to-date player and coach contact information, distribute Football Ontario communications and encourage other members of staff to read/ sign off on documents


2. COMMUNICATION

  1. Communicate meetings and important dates with the team (parents, coaching staff, players)
  • Suggestion: Choose a form of communication that you will use consistently (e.g., TeamLinkt, WhatsApp)
  1. Outreach/ communication with community partners to recruit volunteers for events and sponsors
  2. Promote events through social media to drive registration and player participation

3. HIGH PERFORMANCE PATHWAY

  1. Working with coaching support staff, create a practice plan for Development Camp and Training Camp to share in advance and assign roles to coaching staff
  2. Help to organize and attend virtual sessions/ meetings  (e.g., positional meetings are at the discretion of HC)
  3. Attend all in-person events (tentative dates and locations for 2024): 
    • Development Camp (May 5, 2024)
  • Training Camp: July, 2024
  • National Championship (Fredericton, AB): July 20-28, 2024

4. NATIONAL TOURNAMENT

  1. During the tournament, maintain communication with parents (through WhatApp, TeamLinkt or email)
  2. Support rest of coaching staff with supervision of players
  • Make sure players are supervised going to team meals, taping/ therapy rooms for the first 2 days of the tournament to make sure they know where to go
  • Nightly room checks to follow curfew
    • Note: knock at the door to remind players to go to bed in their respective rooms. You are not expected to enter their rooms unless emergency
  1. Work to coordinate meeting times
  2. Collaborate to create practice plans
  3. Attend positional meetings as needed
