Football Ontario Seeking Mentee Coaches for the Team Ontario U18 Male Tackle Program

Football Ontario Hiring U18 Male Tackle Mentee Coaches

Hamilton, Ontario – Football Ontario is now accepting applications for two assistant coaching positions with the U18 Team Ontario Male Tackle Program.

The first assistant coaching position is the Mentee coaching position with the program as a part of the Football Ontario mentorship program. The organization is seeking a community coach who wishes to be a part of the Team Ontario Program.

The second assistant coaching position is the BIPOC Mentee coaching position as a part of the Football Ontario membership program. This position will allow  coaches that identify as Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour how to overcome barriers related to the complex intersectionality between race and sport, learning what barriers exist and how to identify these barriers, teaching about accessibility, preparation for potential obstacles coaches face in the field, organizational skills, leadership, development and more.

Football Ontario hopes that by providing these opportunities and strengthening the pool of BIPOC and community coaches, the overall field of coaches is enhanced through the array of unique perspectives, representation, and ideologies.

Creating more opportunities for coaches to enter the field will not only increase the number of coaches available but also increase the level of coaching talent across Ontario.
