Football Ontario Seeking Learning Facilitators for NCCP Workshops

Hamilton, Ontario – Football Ontario is currently accepting applications for qualified Learning Facilitators to lead the organization’s NCCP Workshops.

Guidelines for Being a Great Teammate (Coach, Parent, Athlete):

  1. I am practicing PATIENCE and UNDERSTANDING with others. 
  2. I am only offering words of ENCOURAGEMENT with others.
  3. I am giving others my best ENERGY and ENTHUSIASM.
  4. I am open to DIVERSITY of thought. 
  5. I am RESPECTING the 24-hour rule before sending an email or posting on social media.

LEARNING FACILITATOR (LF) REQUIREMENTS

  1. Core Training
    1. Core Training for Learning Facilitators is a mandatory component of training
      1. Core Training can be accessed through the P/TCR in each province
  2. Content Specific Training
    1. Content Specific Training is a mandatory component of training
      1. Content Specific Training will include a micro-facilitation component of the content that will be delivered 
      2. All Coach Developers must sign the NCCP Coach Developer Code of Conduct during Content Specific Training
    2. Content-Specific Training will also include:
      1. Taking all the mandatory e-learning such as the ‘Novice Coach E-Learning’, the course they are wanting to deliver, as well as the Make Ethical Decisions Online Evaluation.
      2.  Prior to facilitating a course, LFs will have to co-facilitate with an experienced LF. The experienced LF must approve of the co-facilitation and feel confident they would be able to run a clinic on their own.

LEARNING FACILITATOR CORE QUALITIES

  1. LEADERSHIP SKILLS
    1. Applicants must be able to lead and engage a classroom of adult learners from diverse backgrounds
  2. COMMUNICATION
    1. Applicants must be a simple and effective communicator which will help other coaches to learn and grow
  3. KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING OF THE GAME
    1. While not necessary for each course, applicants having an understanding of how this applies to coaching football specifically will be beneficial
  4. PERSONABLE
    1. Applicants need to be someone people want to learn from and work with
  5. ANALYTICAL SKILLS
    1. Applicants should be able to see what is being taught and be able to understand how it applies within the curriculum (turning theory into practice)
