Football Ontario Seeking a Head Coach for the Team Ontario U18 Women’s Tackle Program

Football Ontario Thanks Mark Ouellet for his Time Leading the Program

Hamilton, Ontario – Football Ontario would like to thank Head Coach Mark Ouellet for his hard work, care, and dedication to develop the U18 Women’s Tackle Program over the past two seasons. Coach Mark has now completed his term as the program’s Head Coach.

The Team Ontario Women’s Tackle Program would not be where it is today without Coach Mark and the organization is incredibly thankful for all of his efforts.

In 2022, Football Canada held the Inaugural U18 Women’s Tackle National Championship and thanks to Coach Mark, Football Ontario was able to put forth a team of 20 athletes in this event in which the team finished 4th overall.

Fast-forward to 2023, and Football Ontario was able to host this incredible event and due to the large recruiting and development effort put forth by Coach Mark and his staff, the organization had almost 100 athletes come to Identification and Development Camps to be identified for this team.

Due to this, Football Ontario was able to enter two teams of 22 athletes into the 2023 version of the event, held in the nation’s capital.

Not only did the organization double the amount of Ontario athletes participating in this event, but they also improved their play on the field.

At the 2023 Event, Team Red was able to capture a Bronze Medal in the Harlow Division, being ranked third in the country, and Team Black was able to capture the organization’s first Gold Medal at the Women’s National Championship in the Cummings Division, ranking fifth in the country.

“Football Ontario is incredibly grateful to Coach Mark for all the hard work and dedication that he has put in helping to build and develop the Team Ontario U18 Women’s Tackle Program in Ontario. Mark has helped create a foundation not only for high performance athletes in the women and girls space but also in the community space. The Women’s Team Ontario tackle program is in a great position moving into 2024 and we look forward to having Mark assist us in the transition to the next era.” says Aaron Geisler, Executive Director of Football Ontario.

Coach Mark has set the program on a path towards continued growth and success and the organization hopes to see this continue into the future

The organization is now currently accepting applications for the head coaching position within the Team Ontario U18 Women’s Tackle Program.
