Football Ontario Seeking a Head Coach for the Male’s U14 Team Ontario Tackle Program

Football Ontario Thanks Dan Legros for his Time Leading the Program

Hamilton, Ontario – Dan Legros has finished his term as the Head Coach of the U14 Team Ontario Male Tackle Program. Football Ontario would like to thank Coach Dan and his staff for all of their hard work and dedication that he put into the program over the past few years. The U14 Team Ontario Program would not be where it is today without Coach Dan and the organization is incredibly thankful for all of his efforts.

Dan has set the program on the right track and the organization hopes to see the success and growth  of the program continue into the future.

The organization is now currently accepting applications for the head coaching role with the U14 Male’s Team Ontario tackle football team.

HEAD COACH ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  1.  ADMINISTRATION
  2. Support GM to maintain up-to-date player and coach contact information, distribute Football Ontario communications and encourage coaching staff to read/ sign off on documents


2. COMMUNICATION

  1. Communicate meetings and important dates with the team (parents, coaching staff, players)
  • Suggestion: Choose a form of communication that you will use consistently (e.g., TeamLinkt, WhatsApp)
  • Work with GM to create a working document with questions for Football Ontario
  1. Outreach/ communication with community partners to recruit volunteers for events and sponsors
  2. Promote events (ID Camps, recruitment opportunities) through social media to drive registration and player participation

3. HIGH PERFORMANCE PATHWAY

  1. Working with coaching support staff, create a practice plan for ID Camps, Development Camp and Training Camp to share in advance and assign roles to coaching staff
  1. Help to organize and attend virtual sessions/ meetings  (e.g., positional meetings are at the discretion of HC)
  1. Attend all in-person events (tentative dates and locations for 2024): 
    • ID Camps:
      • Southern Ontario ID Camp: January 13/14
      • GTA ID Camp: January 27/ 28 OR February 3/ 4
      • Eastern ID Camp: February 24/25
      • Northern ID Camp: Date TBD
    • Development Camps:
      • Hamilton Development Camp: April 6/7
  • GTA Development Camp: April 13/14
  • Red Black Weekend: London, May 10-12

4. RED BLACK WEEKEND

  1. Collaborate with Coaching Staff to make Team Red/ Black selections
  1. Maintain communication with parents (through WhatApp, TeamLinkt or email)
  1. Support coaching staff with supervision of players throughout the weekend
