Football Ontario Calls For Nominations
Football Ontario Seeks to Nominate Five Members to the Organization’s Board of Directors, Including a President and Four Directors at large
Hamilton, Ontario – Football Ontario calls for nominations for five positions to be filled on the organization’s volunteer Board of Directors. The organization is seeking nominations for four Directors at large as well as a President. No football experience is required but a passion for the game is considered a strong asset. The term length for positions on the Board is two years for Directors at large and three years for the President.
The Nominations Committee is seeking qualified candidates to play a role in the stewardship of the organization that reflects the organization’s values such as excellence, innovation, alignment, growth, inclusion, and community.
Directors of Football Ontario commit themselves to ethical, business-like and lawful conduct, including proper use of authority and decorum when acting as a Board member. Directors must also be able to represent unconflicted loyalty to the interests of Football Ontario and all of its subsequent members.
Football Ontario is actively committed to equity and the principles of diversity and inclusion and invites applications from all qualified candidates. Board Members will be chosen based upon their demonstrated ability to contribute significantly to the leadership of Football Ontario and to fulfill their statutory fiduciary responsibilities. The core competencies and characteristics that ideally will be reflected in the Board as a whole are:
- Commitment and capacity to fulfill the commitment as a Director
- Knowledge about roles and responsibilities
- Experience in formulating policy
- Experience in thinking strategically
- Knowledge about the sport of football
- Ability to identify principal business risks and ensure implementation of appropriate systems to manage those risks
- Knowledge of organizational performance mechanisms and ability to monitor, evaluate and report
- Ethical and values based behaviour
- Representative of client population (athlete and coach)
The deadline for the receipt of nominations is April 5th, 2022.
