Hamilton, Ontario – Football Ontario has announced the Football Canada 1st Down Try Football Day to be held at Western University in London on November 26, 2022 as a part of Football Weekend in Ontario. The event will take place on the grass rugby field at Western University across from the Athletic Centre.

The Football Canada 1st Down ‘Try Football’ Day will be a FREE EVENT put on by Football Ontario to encourage youth to get out and active and learn some of the fundamentals of the sport and will take place in the morning on Saturday, November 26th at Western University from 10 am to 12:30pm EST.  The event is for all kids aged 4-12.

“Football Ontario is excited to help continue to grow the football community across the province. The First Down program’s goal is to bring the sport we love to new participants that may not have had an opportunity to play before now, and being able to offer a free event like this as a part of Football Weekend in Ontario is a great opportunity” said Football Ontario’s Executive Director, Aaron Geisler.

Football Canada’s First Down Program helps get kids moving and active while having fun. The goal is to help develop their movement abilities and foster further participation in physical activity or sport.

First Down engages participants by teaching fundamental movement skills to foster a love of the sport of football and physical activity.

Football Ontario is constantly looking for ways to create a more diverse sporting environment that promotes inclusivity and this is a great opportunity for young athletes to try out the sport for free.
