Football Ontario Announces 2022 Summer Cup Hosts and Locations

Hamilton, Ontario – Football Ontario is excited to announce the host site for the Inaugural 2022 Football Ontario Summer Cup at the U14, U16 and U18 age levels. 

Football Ontario is proud to share that the U14, U16 and U18 Inaugural 2022 Football Ontario Summer Cup will be held in London, ON and be hosted by the London JR Mustangs as decided by the OSFL membership. The event is to be held the weekend of August 5-7th.

“The OSFL Provincial Champ weekend is the culmination of hundreds of hours of hard work by myself, the OSFL Executive, every volunteer with every centre across this great Province, and the help and direction of Football Ontario.  I am truly honoured to be a part of this. Watching the season progress and seeing how important this sport is to so many young people makes all the effort by so many worth it.  Being the largest Football league in Canada we have the opportunity to build a stronger football community that will spread throughout our entire country.” says Marny Sharpen, President of the OSFL.

This is to coincide with the previous announcement of the U10 and U12 Inaugural 2022 Football Ontario Summer Cup to be held in Sarnia, ON and hosted by the Sarnia Sturgeons. To be held July 30/31.

The 2022 Football Ontario Summer Cup will be the culmination of the playoffs in the Ontario Summer Football League (OSFL) with the victors of the Summer Cup being crowned the OSFL and Provincial Champion at each age group. 

The U10, U12, and U14 2022 Football Ontario Summer Cup will be the largest amateur tackle football event held in Ontario with 35 Teams, 1500 participants and two host sites.

The U16 and U18 championships will take place over the span of two days and will consist of five tiers of championships at both age groups. This will total 30 teams and 1000 participants.

“The Summer Cup Provincial championship will be the largest tackle championship in the country and we are excited to be able to showcase all of the OSFL teams in the province and help create greater exposure for the game. The provincial championship will be a great event split over two weekends and locations.” says Aaron Geisler, the Executive Director of Football Ontario.
