Football Ontario Announces Five 2026 Flag Championship Events
Football Ontario Announces Intercollegiate Flag Provincials, Elite Flag Nationals, High School Girls’ Flag Provincials, Club Flag Provincials, and Club Flag Nationals to be held in the Spring/Summer of 2026
Hamilton, Ontario – Football Ontario is proud to announce five premier flag football events set to take place across the province this summer, continuing the momentum behind the growth of flag football in Ontario and across the country.
These events are to go alongside the already previously announced Adult Flag Circuit: VIEW ANNOUNCEMENT HERE

The 2026 championship lineup includes:
- 2026 Intercollegiate Flag Provincial Championship:
Fleming College, Peterborough, ON
April 3-4, 2026 - 2026 Football Canada Elite Flag National Championships:
Queen’s University. Kingston, ON
May 15–17, 2026 - 2026 High School Girls’ Flag Provincial Championships:
McMaster University, Hamilton, ON
June 2, 2026 - 2026 Football Ontario Club Flag Provincial Championships:
Heritage Green Sports Park & Hamilton Stadium, Hamilton, ON
July 18–19, 2026 - 2026 Football Canada Club Flag National Championships:
Millennium Park, Ottawa, ON
July 31–August 2, 2026
These events represent the continued expansion of competitive flag opportunities across Ontario.

From high school and collegiate competition to club provincials and national championships, these events provide clear and meaningful pathways for athletes at every stage of their development. 2026 will be one of our most ambitious flag calendars to date, and we are excited to continue building high-quality championship experiences for athletes both in our province and across the country,” says Tyler McNicholl, Director of Operations with Football Ontario.
The 2026 Intercollegiate Flag Provincial Championship will be returning to Fleming for a second consecutive year in April, the organization looks forward to welcoming the top university and collegiate teams from across the country as they all try to earn a spot in the Collegiate National Championships.
The 2026 iteration of the Football Canada Elite Flag National Championships will be returning to Kingston, ON and will be held at Queen’s University for a third consecutive year. The event will play host to 60+ provincial teams from all across the country in eight different divisions.

Football Ontario is thrilled to host this event and looks forward to making the 2026 version of this event the biggest and best yet.
The second annual 2026 High School Girls’ Flag Provincial Championship will play host to two different divisions (JR and SR) with school boards from across the province all being represented. Each participating school will be receiving an official NFL Flag Kit to continue developing their flag football programs within their schools.
The 2026 Football Ontario Club Flag Provincial Championships aims to be the largest flag football event to date. The event will be hosted in Hamilton at both Heritage Green Sports Park and Hamilton Stadium. There will be a total of 9 divisions represented and Football Ontario looks forward to seeing the competition.
The team registration fee for the Provincial Championships is set at $699 but Football Ontario is offering an Early-Bird discount of $649 for all teams that register prior to May 1.
The deadline to register a team is June 19, 2026.
The 2026 Club Provincial Championships are exclusively open to Football Ontario members and high-school clubs. Any team that participates within the tournament also receives the opportunity to attend the National Championships to be held in Ottawa in August.

- U12 Mixed (2015/16)

Football Ontario is also thrilled to once again be hosting the Club Flag National Championships for the third consecutive year in 2026, with the event being hosted in the nation’s capital of Ottawa for the first time.
The Club Flag Nationals will be open to all clubs that are members in good standing with their PSO and have completed any requirements by their respective PSO to attend.
The event is set to feature 3 different age categories, and 6 total divisions with the aim of 80+ teams and 800+ total athletes from all across Canada.
The cost to register for the National Championships team registration fee is set at $899 but Football Ontario is offering an Early-Bird discount of $699 for all teams that register prior to June 1.
The deadline to register a team is July 1, 2026.
