Football Ontario Unveils 2026 Team Ontario Women’s Tackle Road Map
Football Ontario Announces the Road Map for the 2026 U18 and New U16 Women’s Tackle High Performance Program
Hamilton, Ontario – Football Ontario has officially unveiled the Road Map for the 2026 Futures Identification, High Performance Academy and Team Ontario U18 Women’s Tackle Program (2009/2010/2011) as well as the NEW Team Ontario U16 Women’s Tackle Program (2011/2012/2013).
Football Ontario is thrilled to finally be able to offer our younger athletes a high-performance program in the tackle space. The organization would like to note that athletes born in 2011 are eligible for both programs and the top 2011 athletes may be invited to participate in training camp and/or as a part of the final roster of the U18 team.

The Identification and Selection process will consist of two phases that take place from January-May and lead to the selection of the team that will participate in the 2026 U18 Women’s Tackle National Championship as well as our U16 Development Camp.

U18 Road Map
PHASE 1
Phase One will take place in January and February with Football Ontario Futures ID Camps. There will be a total of four camps held across the province with a University of Waterloo Camp, a University of Toronto Camp, a Carleton University Camp, and a Sudbury Camp.
Each Identification Camp will be initially limited to 100 total athletes so that the organization is able to provide the best possible experience to those in attendance.
These Identification Camps will be priced at $89.99 each, however, if you register prior to January 1, 2026 you will receive early-bird pricing of $79.99.
WATERLOO CAMP – January 11, 2026 (Women/Girls)

TORONTO CAMP – January 25, 2026 (Women/Girls)
- 10am-12:30pm
OTTAWA CAMP – February 14, 2026 (Women/Girls)
- 5pm-7:30pm
SUDBURY CAMP – February 21, 2026 (Women/Girls)
- 10:15am-12:15pm
PHASE 2
Phase Two will take place immediately following Phase 1 with the High-Performance Academy with the top players from each of the Identification Camps receiving an invite to participate.
These athletes will also be invited to a development camp which will take place on May 3, 2026, at Queen’s University. This camp will consist of both on-field and classroom work.
Football Ontario will also have virtual sessions for all athletes admitted to the High-Performance Academy. These sessions will be led by both the coaching staff and special guests to help the athletes both on and off the field.

U16 Road Map
PHASE 3/4
Following these phases the final U18 Team Ontario roster will be selected to form the team that will take part in the 2026 Women’s U18 Tackle National Championship in Regina. Stay tuned for Football Canada’s formal announcement on this event.
After the success last year, Football Ontario will again be inviting all selected athletes for a 3 day training camp, tentatively scheduled for July, prior to leaving for their teams National Championship, the alternates for the team will also be invited to attend this training camp so that they can prepare with the team.
More information on these camps will be announced once Football Canada officially announces the 2026 Tournament.
Football Ontario is excited to have the opportunity to return to the National Championship in 2026 after claiming the Silver at the event in 2025. The organization hopes to lead a successful Team Ontario program in order to showcase all the talent the province has to offer and display the growth that women’s football has undergone.
