Football Ontario Unveils 2026 Team Ontario Male U18 Tackle Coaching Staff
Football Ontario Announces the U18 Team Ontario Male Coaching Staff
Hamilton, Ontario – Football Ontario has officially unveiled the 2026 Team Ontario coaching staff for the U18 tackle program.
The coaching staff is led by Head Coach Tommy Kanichis, who enters his second year with the U18 Male Tackle Program. Coach Tommy Kanichis is looking to bring the U18s back to the Gold Medal Game this year at Canada Cup.
The 2026 staff brings most returning coaches along with exciting new coaches to the Team Ontario program, who have a vast amount of both coaching and playing experience and success. The entire 2026 staff is listed below:
- Head Coach – Tommy Kanichis
- Offensive Coordinator – JP Asselin
- Defensive Coordinator – Joe Cappiello
- Run Game Coordinator – Chris Coulson
- REC – Matt Deans
- Offensive Line -Irv Daymond
- Defensive Line – Tyreek Phillips
- Linebackers – Morgan Burkett
- Defensive Backs – Donnavan Carter
- General Manager – Dealius Danso
- Equipment Manager – Jerome Erdman
- AT – Zach Mougenot
“I’m excited to be returning the majority of our staff from last year’s U18 Team Ontario Canada Cup team. In our first year together, we were able to lay a strong foundation and have success, making it to the gold medal game. This is a diverse staff full of different experiences and successes. We look forward to working with the top U18 male football players in our province and building off of and overcoming last year’s lessons.” said Head Coach Tommy Kanichis
Football Ontario is thrilled to have this talented and experienced staff lead the Team Ontario program and players to a successful year and an exciting 2026 Canada Cup. The staff provides top-level coaches, who will help the players in both the growth of their practical football techniques and skills, as well as help further their exposure.
