Football Ontario Announces HMFF and Hamilton Falcons as Official Members

Football Ontario Welcomes the Hamilton Mighty Football Factory and Hamilton Falcons as Newest Members

Hamilton, Ontario – Football Ontario is proud to officially welcome the Hamilton Mighty Football Factory (HMFF) and the Hamilton Falcons as official members of Football Ontario. Together, the organizations will work together in order to continue the growth, promotion, collaboration, and alignment of flag football throughout the province.

“The Hamilton Mighty Football Factory (HMFF) and the Hamilton Falcons are excited to work alongside Football Ontario to grow and elevate the game of flag football in our community. This collaboration reflects our shared commitment to providing inclusive, high-quality opportunities for both male and female athletes across the City of Hamilton. Together, we look forward to expanding access, increasing participation, and continuing to build a strong foundation for the future of flag football.” says Jaime Mota, President of HMFF.

Founded in 2010 and 2023 respectively, the Hamilton Mighty Football Factory (HMFF) and the Hamilton Falcons Football Club serve over 1000 athletes annually from Hamilton, Caledonia, Stoney Creek, Halton, and surrounding areas. Both organizations continue to demonstrate consistent growth year over year.”

In the spring of 2023, the Hamilton Falcons launched their first U18 girls’ rep team, which competed at the Football Ontario Club Provincial Tournament in Georgetown.  “The immediate success of this U18 girls team not only brought home a championship that day, but also sparked the launch and rapid growth of girls flag football in our community,” says coach and founder of the Hamilton Falcons Gianfranco Mele. “Their accomplishments showed what’s possible and inspired a movement”.

Together, the two organizations aim to further expand programming and event opportunities and to increase access for athletes to join high-performance pathways—providing more chances to compete at national and international levels.

The primary goal of this partnership is to grow and align flag football opportunities across Ontario. Football Ontario remains dedicated to creating a diverse and inclusive sporting experience that supports leadership development and promotes both physical and mental well-being through football.
