Football Ontario Accepting Applications for Sponsorship Coordinator

Hamilton, Ontario – Football Ontario is currently accepting applications for a Sponsorship Coordinator position with the organization.

TITLE: Sponsorship Coordinator

TYPE OF POSITION: Contract (Performance-Based)

LOCATION: Virtual/Hybrid (Some Travel Required for Events)

REPORTS TO: Chief Executive Officer

COMPENSATION STRUCTURE


This is a performance-based contract with no base salary. Earning potential ranges from $40,000–$45,000 annually, based on the following structure:

Event Contracts:

  • $3,000 – Football Canada Elite Flag Nationals
  • $3,000 – Football Canada Club Flag Nationals

Sponsorship Commission:

  • 10% on sponsorship revenue generated up to $10,000
  • 8% on $10,001–$25,000
  • 6% on $25,001–$50,000
  • 5% on revenue above $50,000

Revenue Share Opportunities:

  • 10% of Football Ontario proceeds from 50/50 Mega Raffles
  • 5% of Ribfest X sponsorship revenue
  • 10% of net merchandise sales
  • 8% of profits from affiliate marketing partnerships
  • 10% of tourism and other grant funding secured


OBJECTIVE

Football Ontario is seeking a driven and entrepreneurial Sponsorship and Fundraising Coordinator to lead sponsorship acquisition, activation, and innovative fundraising efforts. This contract role is suited to a performance-oriented individual with strong sales instincts and a passion for sport and community development.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Acquire, manage, and activate sponsorships across Football Ontario programs and events.
  • Lead and execute sponsorship strategy for:
    • Football Canada Elite Flag Nationals
    • Football Canada Club Flag Nationals
    • Football Ontario Club Flag Provincials
    • Team Ontario Programs
    • RedBlack Weekend
    • Football Ontario 50/50 Mega Raffles (Spring & Fall)
    • Ribfest X Partnership Activations
    • Football Ontario Golf Classic
    • Football Ontario Hall of Fame Dinner
    • Team Ontario Fundraising Initiatives
    • Other Football Ontario Programming
  • Manage merchandise and affiliate product campaigns.
  • Support grant acquisition efforts, including tourism funding.
  • Deliver quarterly sponsor reports demonstrating ROI and brand impact.
  • Collaborate on the development and launch of the Team Ontario Athlete Ambassador Program.

KEY ATTRIBUTES

  • Educational Background: A degree or diploma in Business, Marketing, Sports Management, or a related field is an asset but not required.
  • Sponsorship and Fundraising Experience: Proven experience in acquiring, managing, and activating sponsorships and/or fundraising initiatives, ideally in a sport or non-profit environment.
  • Entrepreneurial Mindset: A self-starter who thrives in a performance-based role and is motivated by results and innovation.
  • Strategic Execution: Ability to align sponsorship and fundraising initiatives with the organization’s strategic goals and long-term growth.
  • Creativity and Innovation: Track record of developing creative activations, campaigns, or partnership strategies that deliver measurable value.
  • Relationship Building: Excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with corporate partners, community stakeholders, and sponsors.
  • Grant and Funding Knowledge: Understanding of tourism, government, and event funding streams and the ability to support applications and reporting.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication abilities, including experience preparing proposals, sponsorship decks, and reports.
  • Event Activation Support: Willingness to travel and assist with on-site execution of major events, activations, and partner servicing.
  • Technical Abilities: Proficiency in Google Drive, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and basic familiarity with marketing tools or CRMs is an asset.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability: Comfort working remotely, managing varied workloads, and adjusting hours around event schedules and partner needs.

START DATE: August 1st, 2025
