Football Ontario Unveils 2025 Team Ontario U18 Women’s Tackle Roster
Football Ontario Announces the U18 Team Ontario Women’s Tackle Player Roster
Hamilton, Ontario – Football Ontario has officially unveiled the 2025 Team Ontario player roster for the U18 Women’s Tackle Program that will head to Calgary, AB for the Women’s Tackle National Championship, July 20-26.
Football Ontario is proud to unveil the official roster for the 2025 U18 Women’s Tackle Team. This group of 25 outstanding athletes represents the top talent in their age group across the province, with a strong presence from Ontario Women’s Football League (OWFL) programs. These athletes will compete on the national stage in Calgary from July 20–26, aiming to defend Ontario’s national title, captured by Team Ontario Red in 2024.
Returning to lead the program is Head Coach Carlie Manners, who made history last year as both the first female head coach of Team Ontario and the first woman in Canadian history to win a national championship at the helm of a provincial tackle football program. Manners brings her leadership and current CFL experience (having completed the Diversity in Sport program with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers), back to the field as Ontario looks to build on its dominant success.
“This year’s tryout process was incredibly competitive,” says Head Coach, Carlie Manners. “Our staff challenged the prospective athletes with high expectations, and they rose to meet them. We’re proud of the momentum we’ve built in this program and couldn’t be more excited to hit the field in July with such a young and talented group.”
The 2025 roster features a blend of athletes that are new to the Team Ontario program, and returning talent, offering a dynamic mix of experience, energy, and dedication. Several athletes from the 2024 championship squad will return, joined by new additions who bring new experiences and passion to the program.
Football Ontario is thrilled to have a strong provincial representation at the National Championship this year, joining Team Alberta, Team Saskatchewan, Team Manitoba, Team Quebec and the National Indigenous Team.
